Okay, folks. Here’s the rundown of how this election will change women’s representation in Congress.

1. AT LEAST 77 women will serve in the House of Representatives. That’s a record.

2. TWENTY WOMEN were elected to serve in the Senate – the most ever. Ever.

3. BIG FIRSTS for Tammy Baldwin, who became the first openly gay person elected to the Senate; voters in Massachusetts and Wisconsin, who elected their state’s first lady senator; Mazie Hriono, who is the first Asian-American woman to be elected to the Senate, Tammy Duckworth, who is the first disabled female veteran elected to the House of Representatives; New Hampshire, which is the first state to have an all-female Congressional delegation; and Tulsi Gabbard, who is the first Hindu-American to get elected to Congress.
