Right now I’m at Bill Duncan Opportunity Center, which is for students who were kicked out of school. People are teasing me and calling me a terrorist.
Kiera Wilmot, arrested and removed from school for doing a science experiment on school property, wrote about her experience with her school’s no-tolerance policy.
Even after the charges were dropped, Kiera has to go to a different school for students who have been expelled. Abuse/mishandling of disciplinary situations can have lasting effects - the flaws in our education disciplinary system need to be fixed.
