Kyrsten Sinema officially becomes first bisexual congresswoman
With all the votes now counted, Kyrsten Sinema has officially won a spot representing Arizona’s ninth district, making her the first openly bisexual congresswoman in the country.
The Victory Fund, which funds and trains LGBT political candidates, backed Sinema’s campaign. “We’re thrilled for Kyrsten,” said Chuck Wolfe, president and CEO of the Victory Fund, in a statement. “She’s a dynamic leader and she’ll be a strong voice for her community and for all LGBT Americans.”
Many, many props to Ms. Sinema, all who worked on her campaign, and all Arizona voters who supported her. This is a huge accomplishment.
